Becoming Our Matriarch
Losing my self in the wilderness of life became the compass that had me returning home to my heart. The rise of Our Matriarch was a fervent manifestation born from the sacred path of a Soul-Aligned Midwife; a journey through grief and uncertainty, echoed in deep purpose and the forging of unshakable connections.
Through waves of immense mourning I stayed true to my path in becoming a soul-aligned Midwife. From adversity, I was bestowed the title of Our Matriarch by the women in my community who admired me for my strength— to stay true to my values and my devotion to bodily autonomy for women.
The becoming of Our Matriarch was a road of deep transformation, woven with threads of grief, the courage to let go and shadows of fear and uncertainty. This journey was a poignant dance with the unknown, a pilgrimage marked by the echoes of disconnection from familiar landscapes. It was driven by my devotion to sovereignty and body autonomy.
Grief was a formidable companion on this path, serving as both a teacher and a catalyst for growth. As I was beckoned to face the depths of loss, I was guided to transmute pain into wisdom and compassion. Walking away from a 25 year marriage and 25 years of employment within the public health system was not an easy feat. Yet each tear I shed became a drop of nourishment for the seeds of resilience I nurtured within.
Letting go, was another milestone on this sacred journey, requiring a brave surrender to my old self. As I shed layers of identity and expectations, I slowly emerged renewed—as a vessel ready to hold the transformative power of birth and rebirth.
Fear lurked through this journey like a shadowy companion, appearing at every corner of uncertainty. Yet it was fear that became the canvas upon which my courage painted a masterpiece. To become a Soul-Aligned Midwife and embrace the title of Our Matriarch, I had to confront my fears with open arms. I learnt to understand that within the depths of my fears were the keys to unlocking profound self-discovery.
Uncertainty, was a constant companion, challenging my desire for a mapped-out future. The Soul-Aligned Midwife journey called me to embrace the fluidity of life, navigating the currents of the unknown, like a true Matriarch, with grace and resilience. In this dance with uncertainty, the beauty of spontaneity and the magic of the unexpected continued to unfold.
Disconnection from community echoed a poignant truth—a Soul-Aligned Midwife often walks a path less traveled. Yet, this isolation became a sacred pilgrimage, fostering a connection with the universal energy that binds all souls. In this solitude, I discovered the power of devotion coupled with the expansion to receive.
Nourishing my internal world strengthened my gift to hold space for my self and for others. Releasing the old created space to forge new connections and communities. From this death and rebirth, Our Matriarch was born.
As I walked this sacred path, I was reminded that each step, no matter how challenging, was etching the path to my becoming. Our Matriarch emerged not in spite of the challenges but because of them, a testament to the transformative power of embracing my shadows and activating my internal light.
